ENROLLMENT POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Eligibility: Westminster Preschool is open to children of all faiths, ethnic backgrounds and abilities. To be eligible for enrollment for a Fall class, the child must be three years of age by September 30th of the year in which he/she is enrolled. It is anticipated that each child will have attained bowel and bladder control prior to entering the program; however, each case will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Enrollment Procedure:

Registration for the school year 2010-2011 begins Tuesday , Dec.1, 2009.

1.  Registration forms are due by 12:00 noon on December 11th for the following:

  • Members of Westminster  Presbyterian Church
  • Children currently enrolled in WYSC  Preschool and Toddlers and Two's
  • Siblings of  children currently enrolled in WYSC Preschool and  Toddlers & Two's 

2.  Registration forms are due by 12:00 noon on January 15th for the community (all applicants who do not fall into the categories listed in #1)

3.  A non-refundable fee of $55 must accompany all registration forms

4.  Registration forms may be printed from program's website

5.  Please return form to the program's office

6.  Enrollment acceptance and/or wait list letters will be mailed on Monday, February 1st.

Applications will be processed for the following groups of persons in the order listed below. When there are more applicants than available spaces in a particular category, a lottery system will be used to determine placement.

  1. Westminster Presbyterian Church members
  2. Children currently enrolled in the preschool
  3. Siblings of children currently enrolled
  4. Children currently enrolled in Westminster Toddlers and Twos
  5. Members of the Community

Wait List/Pool: Once all enrollment spots are filled, the remaining applications will be placed in a Wait List pool in the order they were drawn. A child may remain on the Wait List for the entire school year. However, the list does not carry over from one year to the next.

Class Placement: A reasonable effort is made to have an equal number of girls and boys in each class, as well as a twelve-month age span. Requests for individual teachers cannot be honored. Parents are notified of their child's class assignment and teachers' names in August of each year.

Withdrawal: The Preschool will be in session for nine months, September through May. It is understood that children accepted are to be enrolled for the entire school year. Tuition will be refunded only if the spot can be filled.
